Dr. Grealish is originally from Chicago where he met his wife Alenka. They fell in love with Portland in 1993 when Dr. Grealish began his specialty training in Ophthalmology at the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health Sciences University. "With our active outdoors lifestyle we think Portland is an ideal place to live and raise our two children".

Dr. Grealish graduated with "honors" in Physics from the University of Illinois in 1986. Dr. Grealish then performed research in Molecular Biology for two years at the University of California. He received his Medical Degree with "honors" from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1992. Dr. Grealish scored in the top 3% nationally on his medical boards. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Grealish is a member of the Board of Refractive Surgeons at EyeHealth Laser Center. He has a special interest in quality control and outcomes analysis. He has lectured to Portland area refractive surgeons at the Casey Eye Institute.
