Since 1998 I have consulted with thousands of patients about their LASIK options. Over the years I have learned that this initial consultation is often the biggest hurdle for many patients to get over on the their path toward LASIK. It's normal for people to be concerned with both the safety and costs of LASIK. However, most patients fears on these issues are unfounded. LASIK consultation is actually a simple, painless, and quite educational process for my patients. My goal is to provide patients with a thorough evaluation that allows them to safely consider their options for surgery. The consultation is your chance to find out if you are ready for surgery, and more importantly, if you feel comfortable with the setting, people, and the technology involved. This is also our chance to evaluate your goals, expectations, and the health of your eyes to be sure that surgery is a good fit for you. Most of all, it is the beginning of a partnership that can last well beyond your recovery after LASIK. In fact, since the late 90's I have routinely seen my LASIK patients for annual exams. It's very gratifying to share their long-term success after LASIK and care for the overall health of their eyes.

An Easy First Step

Initial consultations can be performed in less than an hour and do not require dilation. If LASIK is a good fit for you, a second consultation will be arranged to confirm our initial measurements and answer any additional questions. Alternatively, a more comprehensive single consultation can be performed in about two hours including dilation of the eyes. In either case patients can drive themselves, but family and friends are welcome to participate if desired. All LASIK consultations are free of charge.
